Math Leadership Planning Session

Do you have your math plan ready for the new school year?

Course Summary

Create a Math Instructional Vision and Professional Learning Plan for the upcoming year.

Use this leadership workshop to help you create your School Improvement Plan goals, professional development themes for 2023-2024, and/or a roadmap for math improvement.

This training is specific to schools just starting with Math Expressions, continuing to use Math Expressions or those phasing out of Math Expressions.

"I know we need to change something in our math instruction, but I don't know what to change, where to start, or how to meaningfully make lasting change." - Every leader ever.

  • What do we need to change?
  •  Where do I  start (what do I prioritize)?
  • How do I ensure our plan makes meaningful and lasting change?
  • How do I  get buy-in from all stakeholders?
  • How do I  make moves with limited time with staff?
  • I'm not a math expert, I don't know what I don't know.

I can help you and your team make sense of your data, your implementation plans, and your schedules (master & PD)

Create an effective Math Plan

Understand and apply my Professional Learning Cycle steps to plan your entire year of next steps.

Often we know our goals, but along the way our vision begins to 'leak' as other priorities take over, teacher overwhelm sets in, etc.

We will create a plan that is intentional and has supports built in for ll stake holders along the way.

Who Should Register?

This workshop is for:

  • school leaders( principals)
  • curriculum coordinators
  • district math leaders
  • leadership teams (instructional coaches
  • team leaders/math team

This workshop is not intended for teachers to attend without school administrators.

Whether this is your first year teaching with Math Expressions, or you are phasing out of Expressions, or somewhere in between, create a plan to support teachers.

With curriculum change comes a lot of uncertainty, overwhelm, and frustration. Our time together will help you identify where to put your focus next and how to get you there.

During my extended tenure in education I have participated in many professional learning opportunities that left me uninspired and more confused. Shannon Kiebler of Empower Consulting, however, consistently delivers engaging and practice-altering experiences that teachers crave and administrators applaud. From model lessons to coaching workshops Shannon delivers professional, fast-paced learning experiences that leave lasting impressions and jump-start preferred pedagogical shifts.

“Shannon's resources and professional development have prepared me to more meaningfully support teams and our whole staff with improving mathematics outcomes for our students. My reflective conversations with and feedback to individual teachers during informal and formal observations have also grown.”

Sarah White
Principal, North Shore School District

We appreciate our partnership with Shannon so much. She's been a tremendous thought partner for positive change from the district to the classroom level. Shannon's coaching has been well received by principals and teachers alike. We've noticed improvements in student engagement and teachers instructional practice and confidence. When we moved to high quality instructional materials we noticed improved student performance. Our partnership with Shannon has accelerated the entire process.
